We at the Ark are always in need of responsible and longtime Volunteers, both for the early morning crew and the day time crew.
You should be at least 16 years of age and willing and able to follow instructions.
What is a Volunteer?
Volunteering is the practice of people working on behalf of others without being motivated by financial or material gain. Volunteering generally considered an altruistic (Selfless) activity, intended to promote good or improved quality of life. People also volunteer to gain skills without requiring an employer's financial investment.
What will be your benefits?
You will be meting people with the same interest. Teens will learn to take responsibility and care for an other live. If you want to work with the dogs, you will for sure get a good workout, since we walk ALL of our dogs at least ones a day. Okay, okay, it is lots of fun to for us animal lovers, and the animals.
What does a volunteer do?
Well, it depends...
...if you are working with the dogs,
* you will be walking the dogs
* scoop poop in the confinements and on your walks
* make sure the dogs have plenty clean water all day long
* give them a bath if needed
* report if you see anything wrong like a limp or a small cut
* play and snuggle with them to make sure they feel loved
...if you are working with the cats, you will be
* snuggle and socialize the cats
* groom them
* make sure they have plenty of water and food
* scoop the litter boxes
* sweep the rooms to keep them clean
* help people with the selection of a cat
* report if you see anything wrong like a limp, sneeze or a small cut
There is much more you will do, but this will give you a quick idea what you will get in to.

Oh yes, make sure you will wear sensible cloth. If you want to work with the dogs, wear closed shoes (no flip flops).
